Privacy & opt-out
SocialScout indexes publicly available posts (videos and photos) and profiles of Belgian creators, freelancers, agencies and brands on TikTok and Instagram, and the pages they link themselves (LinkedIn, X, Substack, their website), to help brands and agencies find fitting collaborations, makers and video formats that work. Legal basis: legitimate interest (art. 6.1.f GDPR), limited to creator discovery and content research for marketing collaborations and, through Pikobello, making a first contact for such a collaboration.
The controller is Boostique BV, the company behind SocialScout and Pikobello.
SocialScout belongs to Boostique BV, Ter Platen 25B, 9000 Gent, Belgium. Company and VAT number BE 1025.380.763, RPR Gent, Ghent division. Mail: hendrik@vibelab.be.
What we do and do not do
- We only process what you post publicly yourself: videos, photos, captions, profile statistics, your bio and the pages you link in it.
- We do not store phone numbers, not even when they are in your bio.
- We sell no email addresses or other contact details, and we do not pass them on to brands or agencies.
- We build no facial recognition and identify no one through biometrics.
- Analyses describe content (topic, language, style) and never assess people.
Pikobello
Pikobello is our platform where brands and agencies manage their collaborations with creators. Pikobello users can search and view creators from SocialScout there: name, handles, followers, niches, language, formats, median views, a shortened bio and links to public videos. Brands and agencies never see your email address or phone number there.
When a brand wants to work with you, Pikobello can send you an email about that collaboration on the brand’s behalf, at the address you list publicly in your bio. You get at most one per brand, unless you reply. If your bio has no email address, the brand only gets your handles and contacts you itself.
If you work with a brand through Pikobello, or have an account there yourself, Pikobello passes us your handles and we follow your public posts as we do for other creators on SocialScout. When you publish a post for a campaign, Pikobello also sends us its link. For up to 90 days after publication we collect that post’s public numbers (views, likes, comments, shares and saves) and keep the video in protected storage, so the brand behind the campaign sees the results. What you agree with a brand is never shown to us. If you opted out with us, Pikobello still gets the numbers and the video of your campaign posts. We keep nothing of it ourselves: we delete the video and what we collected from the post within 48 hours.
AI processing
Videos are analysed with AI to describe what happens in them (topic, format, language, visible brands). Search questions on this site and through our API are processed by AI models to find and summarise results. AI is not used for automated decisions with legal effects on people.
An AI model reads your public bio and the pages you link, to estimate whether you are a creator, freelancer or agency and what you make: video, photo, writing and more. A person checks that estimate. We give no one a score.
Processors
We work with these processors, each under their own data processing terms:
- Google (Gemini): video analysis, search embeddings and estimating role and craft from your public bio.
- Anthropic (Claude): processing search questions and writing answers.
- Vercel AI Gateway and TypeSafe AI: ranking search results.
- OpenAI: estimating whether an account is a person or a brand, and ideas in Studio.
- Supabase (EU region): database and image storage.
- Vercel: hosting.
- Apify: fetching public profile, video and photo data.
- Higgsfield: generating videos in Studio, at a customer’s request.
- Stripe: customer payments.
- Resend: emails to customers, such as the Monday brief.
What this site keeps itself
- For API customers and Pikobello: per key, which tool was called and when, for billing and to limit abuse.
- Per day, how many search questions a visitor asks, counted on an irreversible hash of the IP address. We do not store the address itself.
- SocialScout sets no tracking cookies of its own and uses no analytics or session recordings. When you play a TikTok or Instagram video in the app from a link you saved, that video loads from TikTok or Instagram. That only happens after you click Play. From then on that platform sees your IP address and can set cookies.
- A card you share with Send is visible to anyone with the link, together with your note.
In your browser, SocialScout sets this:
- Three cookies:
langwith your language choice, sskeywith your access code, only when you log in, andsectorwith the sector you choose without logging in. That choice is anonymous. - In your browser’s storage (localStorage) only
x-embed-ok-tiktokorx-embed-ok-instagram, once you played a video from that platform. - While the tab is open (sessionStorage):
ss-trail, the pages you just viewed, so the back button works. Besides that, steps in between: a draft, and a save or page waiting for your login.
Opting out
Mail hendrik@vibelab.be with your handle or the link to your LinkedIn, X, Substack or website. We delete your profile and all derived data (embeddings included) within 30 days and put your handle and links on a block list, so you are not added again. That holds for Pikobello too: brands no longer find you there through SocialScout, and you get no more invitations that way.
If you see something that is wrong, or something of yours that should go, mail hendrik@vibelab.be with the link.
You also have every GDPR right: access, correction, deletion, objection. Complaints can go to the Belgian Data Protection Authority (dataprotectionauthority.be).
